Some great films you’ve (probably) never seen:

Static
The Chocolate War
True Stories

Nothing Lasts Forever
Summer Vacation 1999

A Self-Made Hero
Gummo

Blue Remembered Hills (technically a TV play, but still)

Not all of these films are for all tastes, (especially Gummo) which is probably why they’re so obscure in the first place.
On the other hand I’d be amazed if you didn’t find something to enjoy in True Stories…
The pleasure is so much sweeter when you’ve discovered these for yourself, by accident. It’s no fun liking something that everyone’s heard of and likes, now is it?

So – what are your suggestions?

UPDATE: Thought of a couple more: “The Rapture“, and “500!”. The latter is not actually the sequel to “300“, although that might make a good pitch…
