I really love high-speed camera shots like those. Awesome video, especially the creative way the various speeds were mixed. Great song, too.

Speaking of videos and jumping about… I found your IMDB page today. I know you have experience in that industry, so I’m guessing that’s really your page. I can only imagine the attention you must get at cocktail parties when you casually let slip, “You know, I was a stunt double for Professor Rumphole Pump.” I’m going to have to find that movie now.

Can you confirm? I promise not to call you “Rumphole” more than once or twice a day.

Erik: Yes. What can I say? I was young, I needed the money. Oh, wait – they didn’t pay any of the crew, actually…You know what these no-budget soft porn fantasy epic productions are like. I wouldn’t recommend watching it, though. It was enormous fun to make, but in order to enjoy actually watching it, you kind of had to be there.
How did you find the page? Did you Google me? I like it when people Google me – it tickles.

I like it when people Google me – it tickles.

I’m guessing that’s about the level of cheekiness of that film. Am I right?

After your comment feed brought me back to your previous post, I ran a test to see if my comment had caused googling something like “simon litton plans new york” to return anything incriminating about missile launching. No hits on that last post, but definitely incriminating, Professor.

Was Jonathan Ross at all famous back in ’97? He and Mark Lamarr are the only names I recognize from the cast list.

Yes, they were both “big time” already back then. Lamarr was fairly morose and mumbly, but you’d expect that. blink and you’ll miss him (or maybe you won’t) in the final film.
Ross turned up hugely late but brought with him several crates of beer as an apology. He was pleasant and friendly and ad-libbed a lot.

I guess there’s only so much you can dislike a guy that arrives with crates of beer, no matter how late he is. “Annoying, but hard to dislike” is about how I would have guessed Ross is.

Not to get this comment thread back on topic or anything, but I LOVE both videos. So well done. I’m not going to say all the things that came to mind while watching them for fear of sounding like a pretentious snot.

Wow, I’d never seen either of those videos. Gorgeous, both of them, and the music–so evocative.

Jag – how dare you comment ON topic! That’s so rude.
But please feel free to risk sounding like a pretentious snot (I do it all the time). I’d love to hear what they make you think of.
Tina – you can hear/see them perfom the whole of their latest album ‘In Rainbows” here. Another song I’d recommend if you like these two is “Fake Plastic Trees” , from the album “The Bends”, although unfortunately the video is a little short on slow-motion gorgeousness.
Oh, and the video for “Just” is brilliant – best use of subtitles EVER.
In fact, they very rarely do bad videos, or bad songs for that matter.

Fake Plastic Trees is my absolute favorite Radiohead song ever.
