Back to work today following a fairly busy month off. I’ll write a proper post soon, but for the moment here are some random recent foodie photos.

As our kitchen was ripped out recently (deliberately, I hasten to add) we had to eat out locally in the evenings. Sushi from the eponymous restaurant.

Pretty goat’s cheese from a kaashandel in Antwerp.

Tartare de boeuf at L’Achepot. It looked a little more appetising on the plate than it does on this photo. I’m a relatively recent convert to the whole “pile of raw meat” school of cookery, but I’ve been eating it quite a lot recently.

At the same establishment dessert was vanilla ice cream with diced apple cooked in salted butter. Gorgeous and far too small a portion.

    Did you buy any of that goat cheese?
    What’s with all the confetti?

      We bought a different cheese (brie filled with pesto). The “confetti” are in fact flower petals.
